Western Electric 653AX, during World War 2 when resources were limited Western Electric fashioned these wall phones from mostly obsolete parts (#2 dial, cast paystation upper housing) and made a useful telephone. The 653AX is a complete working antique telephone with built in ringer and induction coil. Equipped with 143 receiver and the 635 "bulldog" transmitter.
